Karela United player remanded for defiling a 13-year-old girl
Philip Flamini, a player for Premier League team Karela United, has been remanded by an Ellembelle District Court after being accused of defiling a 13-year-old girl.
In Edwakpole, a neighborhood of Aiyinase in the Ellembelle District, the team’s clubhouse, the winger is accused of defiling a 13-year-old girl.
According to a report, the incident took place on April 29 on a Saturday.
The suspect was apprehended, according to Jonas Kabutey, the Ellembelle District Social Welfare Officer, following a report made at the police station by the victim’s father.
He claims that the suspect admitted defiling the young child at his arraignment on Tuesday, May 2, before the Ellembelle District Court.
“At the Court, he confessed to defiling the girl. He alleges the victim rather lured him into committing the act. He has been remanded to reappear a week later,” the Social Welfare boss added.
“She tells me that they live opposite the clubhouse and on that particular day of the incident, her parents were not at home so the suspect lured her to his room and subjected her to that indecent act. He even tore her dresses and refused to listen to her pleas,” he indicated.
The victim’s father, Wofa Boah, claimed that someone had witnessed the player inviting her daughter into his room and had informed him of the incident.
“Since I wasn’t at home on that specific day, someone else notified me about the occurrence. It was confirmed by my daughter as well, and medical examinations have indicated that she may have developed cuts in her private area. I’m hurt because I never thought I’d experience this. I want the law to operate naturally,” he said.
