Milovan Rajevac handed two year contract

Following the sacking of Coach Charles Akonnor and his two assistants a few days ago, the Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association tasked a three man committee to select a new coach and two deputies for the senior national team the black stars.


The committee made up of former vice president of the Ghana Football Association Mark Addo, Upper East Regional Football Association chairman Alhaji Salifu Zida and Dr. Randey Abbey have presented Serbian coach Milovan Rajevac as the next black stars coach.


The Serbian who was the former black stars coach led Ghana to the 2010 world Cup in South Africa where Ghana bowed out of the competition at the quarter finals stage being Ghana’s best performance at the global competition and also an African Cup of Nations final in 2010 which was hosted by Angola where the Black stars lost by a single goal to the Pharaohs of Egypt.

Milovan Rajevac had been handed a two year contract with a salary of $45, 000 a month, a car and a place of residence to aid him accomplish his goal effectively.


He will be unveiled as the new coach on Wednesday in Accra. His first task will be against Zimbabwe in a world Cup qualifier next month.
