The West African Examination Council (WAEC) has come out to confirm rumours that the Elective Mathematics and English papers which were written on 9th and 13th September respectively have been cancelled.
This comes after portions of the Elective maths paper two and English Section A were seen on social media platforms. This is a clear state of cheating and should not be condoned.
Mr. George Ohene Mantey who is the Head of test examinations of the examination body said at a press conference in Accra that other forms of cheating like inside hall examination malpractice, institutionalised examination malpractice that is prearranged plans to assist candidates in cheating and also smuggling of mobile phones into examination halls awaiting solutions have been going on and candidates and invigilators caught in these crimes will be severely dealt with.
The examination body is yet to release new dates for the cancelled papers to be retaken .
